收函平安。我们中文学校有三个报告:

1.这个星期天(十一月一日)夏令时间结束，请调整时间。

2.这个学期的各班朗诵比赛是在十二月五日上课时间Zoom举行，请家长们在家协助孩子练习朗诵內容。

3.由于家庭原因，从今年十一月到学期末，我将出国。我们很荣幸能邀请于艳丽女士担任代理校长。如果您有任何疑问或疑问，请随时与她联系。

Greetings! Our Chinese School has three announcements as follows.

1. The day light saving time ends on this Sunday, November 1^st.  Please adjust your clocks accordingly.

2. Our Chinese school will host arecitation contest on December 5^thvia Zoom during the school hours. Please help your child/children practice their recitation contents.

3. Due to the family matter, I will be traveling oversea from this November to the end of the semester. We are blessed to have Ms. Yanli Yu to be the Acting Principal. Please feel free to contact her with any concerns or questions you may have.

“Life is not waiting for the COVID-19 to pass, but waltzing through the pandemic.”

During the COVID-19 pandemic, our Chinese School staff will wear face mask, face shield and gloves from 1:30-2:30 pm on August 8 in order to ensure the safety of students, parents and teachers. Parents who come to the church to buy textbooks/workbooks, please:

(2) Keep six feet social distancing

Dear ECS Parents,

Greetings! Our Chinese school staff had a meeting to discuss about how to follow the safety precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the school year. For the safety of students, parents and teachers, we had decided to continue online Chinese classes for the fall semester. The classes will start at 1:30pm on August 15. Here is some important information.

1. Tuition is $120 per student/per semester. There is no registration fee. There are 15 class days in a semester.

亲爱的家长们，

由于今年3月发生新冠病毒流行，Johnson county卫生与环境部下令关闭堪萨斯州Johnson county的所有学校。感谢上帝，所有班级都可以用网络上中文课，通过Zoom上课到学期末结束。这春季学期有21名学生将获得全勤奖狀。在这些学生中，有10名学生将获得2019-2020学年（2019年秋季学期和2020年春季学期）的全勤奖杯。

去年5月，我们的中文学校对杨云老师和李健鹰老师任教五年教学表示感谢。今年我们要感谢在我们的中文学校任教五年教学的程磊老师，她勤奋、活泼的双向教学启发了她的学生学习中文。见到程磊老师或与她联系时，请向她祝贺。

在取消了春季学期的所有学校活动后，我们中文学校的同工商讨一种不一樣的方式回馈勤奋学习的学生们，决定提供每位春季学期的学生一張价值6美元的礼品卡，每张礼品卡上都有写上每个学生的名字，他们可以在今年八月秋季学期的入学日领取礼品卡。那些获得全勤奖的学生可以在同一天领取奖狀或奖杯。愿上帝賜福您们周末愉快!

Dear ECS Parents,

All schools in Johnson County, Kansas, were ordered by the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment to close schools for the rest of the school year due to the covid-19 pandemic in March this year. Praise God that all Chinese classes were able to go online and finish up strong toward to the end of semester through Zoom. There are twenty one students who will be rewarded with Full-Attendance award certificates for the spring semester. Ten among those students will be awarded with Full-Attendance trophies for the school year 2019-2020 (2019 fall semester and 2020 spring semester).

Last year in May, our Chinese school has given appreciation to Ms. Yun Yang and Ms. JY Li for their five-year services. This year, we would like to give appreciation to Ms. Lily Cheng who has been teaching in our Chinese school for five years. Her diligent and lively two-way teaching inspires her students in learning Chinese language. Please congratulate Ms. Cheng when you see her or have contact with her.

Our Chinese School staffs have figured out a special way to give back to students after all the school events in the spring semester have been cancelled. The school will give each active student a Chick-fil-A gift card of $6. Each card will have each student’s name on it. They can pick up their gift cards on the enrollment day of the fall semester this August. Those students receive Full-Attendance awards can pick up their certificates or trophies on the same day. May God bless you  all a nice weekend!

These seven courses are designed by our experienced teachers in a fun and creative way to cultivate children’s ability to speak and listen, enhance children’s interest in learning, and increase children’s vocabulary and Writing skills. 收函平安！我们使用的课本和作业本是从加州的美洲华语出版社订购，他们免费提供幼儿班至四年级班的暑假作业（简体版和繁体版），网站是www.mzchinese.org，每一册有20页的作业，盼望每一位同学能善用这一个机会，复习这一年或以前所学习的中文。

我们很抱歉由于COVID-19疫情，今年的文化夏令营已被取消。为了帮助我们一些家庭的需要，我们将在今年夏天举办一些在线课程，这些课程是由我们教学经验丰富的老师以有趣和创造性的方式设计的，课程和注册的详细信息将在本周末公布。

Dear ECS Parents and students,

Greetings! The textbooks and workbooks we use are ordered from the MeiZhou Chinese in California. They have provided free summer homework for kindergartner through fourth grader (Simplified and Traditional). It is available at www.mzchinese.org. Each grade has 20 pages of homework. I hope that each student can make good use of this opportunity to review Chinese Mandarin that was studied this year or in the past.  

We are sorry that the cultural summer camp this year has been canceled due to COVID-19. To serve the needs of our community, we will host some online courses this summer. These courses are designed in a fun and creative way from our experienced teachers. The details of the courses and registration will be published by this weekend.

Greetings! We all school staff have missed seeing all of the students, teachers and you physically at school. Nevertheless we do hope you and your family doing well and stay safe.

We gave thanks to God for the provision of the online Chinese classes through Zoom. The last class day of this semester is May 9th. Regrettably all the school activities such as Word Recognition Contest, All School BBQ, Yearbook Publication and Cultural Summer Camp have been canceled because of the pandemic from COVID-19.

“现在是我们的社区需要做重要关键决策的时候，以减缓新冠状病毒的传播。今天，堪萨斯州Johnson县的卫生与环境部命令所有Johnson县的学校从现在到这学年末都要关闭。我们生活在一个充满不确定性的时代，我们正面临着全球大流行的挑战。” 以马内利中文学校遵循政府的命令，将取消所有课堂会议。但是以马内利中文学校将变更形式，改成在线上课。

我们学校负责网络的陈锦华弟兄在3月15日（星期日）通过Zoom网络对老师和同工进行了在线课堂培训，幼儿园班到AP班的所有中文课程将从3月21日（星期六）下午1:30开始过渡到在线课程，希望家长们收到您孩子的老师来信时，登录https://zoom.us进行在线课程，并与老师和其他同学见面、一起网络上课。您的老师将提供网络链接的注册和在线课程的说明。

如果您无法上互联网或没有可用的计算机进行在线课程，请与我联系安排。

从现在到这学期末的所有课外活动课将會取消，每个注册课后活动课的学生将获得取消课程的退款。

Dear ECS Parents,

Greetings!  “The time has come for our community to make an important pivot to slow the spread of COVID-19. Today all schools in Johnson County, Kansas, were ordered by the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment to close schools for the rest of the school year.  We are living in a time of tremendous uncertainty, and we are facing the challenge of a global pandemic.”  ECS will follow the guidance from the government to cancel all in-class meetings.  However, ECS will conduct the schooling in on-line classes.

Our school web master, Brother George Chen, has given teachers and staff an ONLINE Class training through Zoom program this past Sunday, March 15.  All the Chinese classes from kindergarten to AP will transition to ONLINE Classes starting this Saturday, March 21 at 1:30 pm. Parents please look forward to receiving messages from your child’s/children’s teachers and signing in at https://zoom.us to meet up with teacher and other classmates through on-line class.  Your teacher will provide instructions and web link to sign up the on-line class.

If you do not have internet access or available computer to do on-line class, please contact me to make arrangement.  

All after-school activities will be cancelled for the rest of this semester.  A refund of cancellation will be issued to each student who has registered for the after-school activities this semester. 

We will be carefully and continuously monitoring the COVID-19 information from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  Thank you for your understanding at this unprecedented time.  May God bless you with good health and peace!
